Time Attack R1 > Pro Import Motorsports
The victory of the first round Super-Pro Street in the Time Attack 2011 championship has been won by Pro Import Motorsports. A team well-known in the dutch series. The tension was high during every session in the Super-Pro Street class, so take a look with us behind the scenes of this team.

In 2008 Pro Import won the Time Attack of Zandvoort, which boosted their reputation of quality. After that victory they disappeared for some time though; more workorders from customers made it less possible to keep evolving their own Time Attack car. We often heard they couldn't make it during the Time Attack rounds after 2008, because their car just wasn't ready.

But now they're back... with they're famous rocket, this Nissan Skyline R33, often referred to as the PI33. It's fully prepped to strike in the Time Attack 2011 season.

Pro Import has increased its range of producers these past years. One of those partners is Holset, producer of quality turbo's and Pro Import collaborated with them to produce this T75-RR prototype Billet Series. After prepping the rest of the engine, it now produces over 700hp!

And with Kevin Go behind the wheel the car has become a guided missile...

During a test session on Circuit Park Zandvoort on friday, the car was finetuned, and now the time had come... The Super-Pro Street class holds the die-hards within the dutch Time Attack, so we were very excited to see the results and winners.

The warm-up session was bit calm. Pro Import Motorsport ended on spot number 12 with a lap time of 2:08.793, almost ten seconds slower than number 1 in the class, Ronald Winters who set a lap time of 1:58.982 in his Golf 1.

But the strength of Pro Imports is in the pits... Henk, the master of finetuning Skylines here in the Netherlands, went straight ahead with his mini laptop. That gadget is slowly becoming a nightmare for other Time Attack competitors and you'll understand why by reading further...

After that finetune and talking through a new strategy, Kevin headed off again and drove the Qualification session... and set a laptime of eight seconds faster! The PI33 qualified fourth this time with a laptime of 2:00.077, only two seconds slower than number one!

That decrease of laptime surely increased the tension for the finals though. Now it would be no people driving in front of you, just the driver, the car and the track...

But the PI33 roared over the track as if it was at home. [url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7moSLTsJ674=The onboard session can be viewed here[/url]. It resulted in a winning lap time of 1:57.153!

We wonder what magical tricks Henk, Kevin and the Pro Import crew will show us more this Time Attack season...

...but the first set of points and a cup has already been won in a spectacular way.

We'd like to congratulate the whole crew from Pro Import with their victory. We're very curious to see what the rest of the Time Attack season brings this year, since the surprises have already started!
